Car rules and parking at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona

Fall 2026 permits became available August 9, 2026. Cal Poly Pomona requires a valid permit whenever parking on campus and does not offer a beginning-of-term grace period.

Students buy the semester permit online, and residents add the University Housing Services or University Village sticker for their designated areas. The university's live parking tool reports open spaces by facility, while posted restrictions can temporarily relocate vehicles for events or construction.

Overnight parking and vehicle garaging are prohibited unless the driver is a housing resident with the required permit and resident sticker in an approved residential area. Residents must use their assigned area and inspect the vehicle daily.

Cal Poly Pomona allows a resident to keep a permitted car in the assigned residential area during academic breaks. The permit remains required, the housing sticker must stay valid, and the resident must inspect the vehicle daily because posted event or construction restrictions can require relocation.
