Official sources first—and only for policy claims
Eligibility, prices, dates, parking access, and transit claims must link to the university’s own parking, transportation, housing, accessibility, or admissions pages. A search result, forum post, news story, or third-party directory can help locate a page but cannot support a published claim.
An unknown is a valid answer
When an official page is missing, blocked, ambiguous, or silent on a field, the profile says “Not confirmed—check the official parking office.” Research notes and missing-data flags are retained rather than replaced with a likely-sounding assumption.
Every change returns to review
New and changed records enter a needs_review state. The public data loader exposes only approved records, and update history preserves both the review entry and approval decision. Validation rejects uncited substantive claims and broken citation references.
Dates describe research, not a guarantee
“Last checked” is the date a researcher reviewed the linked source. It does not promise that a permit remains available. Sale dates, rates, eligibility, and event restrictions deserve the shortest recheck cycle.
The recommendation score is deliberately simple
Allowed eligibility adds 1; restricted eligibility subtracts 1. Commuting adds 2 while living on campus subtracts 1. A recurring off-campus commitment adds 3, a mobility need adds 3, frequent trips home add 2, and rare trips subtract 1. Comfort with transit subtracts 2; discomfort adds 1. Expected annual parking of at least $350 subtracts 1 and at least $700 subtracts 2. Scores of 4 or more lean toward bringing a car; −2 or less lean toward skipping; the middle remains “Depends.” A standard first-year prohibition returns “Probably skip it” unless the student flags a mobility need, in which case the tool preserves the accommodation question.
Corrections need an official link
A visible update form prepares a review-ready report with the school, field, proposed correction, and official university URL. Reports do not bypass editorial review.
