Can freshmen have cars at UCSB?
No. First-year students cannot bring a vehicle to campus from fall through spring and cannot buy daily, weekly, quarterly, or long-term campus parking unless a limited exception is approved first.
How much is UCSB residence-hall parking?
First-year students are not eligible. Current nine-month rates for eligible returning residents are $535.50 for H22 and most apartment permits and $760.50 for H23.
Are UCSB housing parking permits guaranteed?
No. They are limited and first come, first served. UCSB tells residents who do not receive a permit not to bring a car because nearby street parking is not a dependable substitute.
Can you get around UCSB without a car?
